2024 Scholarships Awarded
MWA is pleased to announce the MWA Scholarship Committee has met and awarded the following scholarships –
Tyra Scelza (NCU) for $500. Tyra is interested in Wildlife Biology and Forestry.
Reeve Applegate (NCU) for $500. Reeve is interested in Public Health and the relationship between the environment and public health.
Haidin Bathalon (NCU) for $500. Haidin’s interests are conservation and rehabilitation in marine biology.
And Silas Hunt (Craftsbury Academy) for $500. Silas is pursuing engineering and environmental science studies.
The recipients are from across the watershed: Lowell, Craftsbury, Island Pond, and Glover.
In awarding them a scholarship, MWA is encouraging them to continue their
advocacy for a cleaner, healthier environment. Tyra, Reeve, Haiden & Silas,
we wish you the brightest of futures and hope you will bring your love of the
environment back to our watershed someday.
Since 2012, the Memphremagog Watershed Association has been awarding
scholarships to graduating secondary school students from schools within the
watershed: North Country High, Lake Region High, Craftsbury Academy, and United Christian Academy.
Scholarships are awarded to students pursuing further education in the
sciences, particularly but not limited to environmental science.
