The Memphremagog Watershed Association was founded in 2007 as an organization dedicated to the preservation of the environment and natural beauty of the Memphremagog Watershed and to ensure its protection for generations to come.
MWA, working with private landowners, lake associations, conservation nonprofits, local, state, federal and international agencies, works to develop guidelines and policies to effectively reverse the damage and restore the watershed.
Through education & outreach, with volunteers and partners, MWA participates in conservation planning and develops and implements water quality projects that will ultimately improve the rivers and lakes in the watershed for all of us to respect and enjoy.
To learn more about managing lake shore property and conservation planting, visit the MWA demonstration areas at the City of Newport Prouty Beach and Clyde River riparian buffer/rain gardens, or reach out to us at memphremagogwatershed@gmail.com.
Memphremagog Watershed Association is a member-based, volunteer, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

If you are wondering if your property is eligible for private landowner assistance and or incentives to protect and restore rivers, wetlands, farms, forests, and lakeshore or rehabilitate property from stormwater runoff, please contact MWA’s knowledgeable staff who can provide technical assistance on non-regulatory, voluntary projects that are often fully funded at no cost to the landowner to improve water quality or restore fish and wildlife habitat.
