Community Canopy Program

Free trees to Newport City and Newport Town residents!

When you plant the right tree in the right place, it can help improve air and water quality, manage stormwater runoff, sequester carbon, help you save money on your utility bills, and make neighborhoods more enjoyable. It’s a win for you and your entire community.

Reserve up to two free trees at: vtcommunityforestry.org/trees

Five species are available:
American hornbeam, Redbud, Red Maple, River Birch, and Serviceberry.

Community Canopy Trees

The trees must be reserved and picked up on Saturday, September 28, 10am-12pm at the Wastewater Treatment Facility (94 TP Lane, Newport)

This program is made possible by the Arbor Day Foundation and the Vermont Urban & Community Forestry Program.
