Now Accepting 2025 Scholarship Applications

The Memphremagog Watershed Association is pleased to offer scholarship monies to graduating high school students interested in pursuing further education or technical training, particularly but not limited to conservation and environmental sciences. Eligible students are graduating from North Country High, Lake Region High, Craftsbury Academy, and United Christian Academy. The amount awarded will be from $500 to $1500 per recipient.

Interested students can obtain a scholarship application from their school guidance counselor. The completed application must be returned to the Memphremagog Watershed Association by Friday, March 28, 2025. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of merit.  Funds for the scholarships come entirely from membership and community contributions.

The Memphremagog watershed is an area of 687 square miles surrounding Lake Memphremagog in which water from all mountains, hills, fields, and rivers drain into the lake. Soils and vegetation in the watershed filter the moving waters, with benefits to water quality, erosion control, and wildlife habitat. The MWA manages projects to restore and preserve wetlands, streams, and forests on private and public lands.
