DEC – Proposed Changes to the Definition of a Wakesports Zone {Proposed revisions of the Wakeboat Rule}
On behalf of the Vermont DEC’s Lakes and Ponds Program, MWA is informing you of an upcoming public meeting to receive public input on State-wide proposed changes to Vermont’s Use of Public Waters Rules. The public hearing for comments on the Proposed revisions of the Wakeboat Rule is being held on July 31 at 6pm at the Gateway Center, 84 Fyfe Drive, Newport, VT 05855
The Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation is announcing a public stakeholder process to receive input on proposed changes to Vermont’s Use of Public Waters Rules. -

Eagle Point Wetland Paddle
When: June 21 with a rain date of June 22, 9:30am with a 10am launch
Where: Eagle Point, Halls Creek bridge, Derby
Eagle Point Wildlife Management Area with nearly a mile of lakeshore habitat, provides excellent opportunities to see a variety of wetland and marsh species. Herons, bitterns, snipe, pied-billed grebes, rails, common moorhens, and marsh wrens make up a large portion of the species you will most likely encounter in the marshes of the WMA and many other wetland and terrestrial species.
The paddle will be led by Ben Applegate of MWA. -

VERMONT HUMANITIES presents and evening with Professor Declan McCabe, an aquatic ecologist and professor of biology at Saint Michael’s College, to discuss and share photographs of the stunning and fascinating organisms found in Vermont’s waterways.
